Real innovation requires bold type‑testing concepts that can validate world‑first technologies with integrity.

That’s exactly why METUSAN FUTURE GmbH is in close exchange with the country’s leading testing institutes – especially in the exciting domain of electrical type testing for high‑current and high‑voltage applications.

During a preliminary meeting at AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH on for February 25th, 2026, we were able to discuss initial possible testing approaches  together with DI Georg Brauner, Senior Research Engineer, Center for Energy.

The combination of high voltage up to 30 kV (with regard to potential‑separation concepts and special effects such as corona discharge) and high current up to 40 kA creates test conditions where simulation and gut feeling reach their limits. This is where empirical data – real validation – becomes essential.

An additional challenge: To what extent can we rely on existing standards? Many standards were developed for established technologies – not for something radically new like the WOLTRONIC SNM. This calls for technical finesse and a deep understanding of the subject matter.

We are heading into a time full of high voltage – in the truest sense of the word. How will theory (on paper) and practice (under real laboratory conditions) align? We will report on this soon.

Many thanks to AIT for the first insights into the test field and for coordinating the possible preparatory steps.
