As the founder and Managing Partner of METUSAN FUTURE GmbH, Dr. Michael Fischer had the great pleasure of contributing as a speaker—together with his colleague Ing. Günther Unger—at the ÖVG Congress for Traction Power Systems 2025.
In his presentation, he introduced the vision that led him to establish METUSAN FUTURE: the development of the WOLTRONIC SNM – Sensor Network Module. This system enables condition-based monitoring of railway power supply and overhead line infrastructure, making a decisive contribution to increasing reliability and operational safety in railway operations.
Particularly valuable was the exchange with fellow experts on the opportunities arising from intelligent sensor technology, data analytics, and condition monitoring. The ability to detect deviations at an early stage and initiate targeted countermeasures opens up an entirely new perspective on traction power systems.
